Ban Gioc Waterfall in the northern province of Cao Bang

Vietnam’s state-owned travel agency Saigontourist will build a luxury resort at the famous Bac Gioc Waterfall in the northern province of Cao Bang, Vietnam News Agency recently reported.

The Ho Chi Minh City-based company committed to the project at a meeting with the provincial People’s Committee last week, according to the report.

Tran Hung Viet, director general of Saigontourist, was quoted as saying that his company is studying and making plans for developing tourism in Cao Bang in accordance with a call for investment in that region made by the HCMC’s People’s Committee.

The committee is encouraging companies from the southern economic hub to invest in potential areas like Cao Bang.

To develop tourism at Ban Gioc is important to Cao Bang, as it will not only push the economic development, and create jobs for locals, but it will also contribute to stability and national security at the border area, the news agency said.

Ban Gioc’s main waterfall belongs to Vietnam, while its sub waterfall flows into the Quay Son River on the border between Vietnam and China.
